Maisie - An aMAZEing Day

I raced off into the Wandiligong Maze.  I stopped.  Left or right?  I decided left and set off down the narrow passage way.
It was raining very lightly and I felt like an explorer, all alone in an unknown territory, stomping through mud puddles, dead leaves and twigs.  The hedges on both sides were 4m high and only a little bit of sunlight peered through.  I got to a wooden door.
I stopped again, then decided to go through the door to see where it would take me.  The challenge was to find the exit, obviously, but also to find 2 towers (stairs leading up to a platform) and 2 rose bushes (one pink, one white).  I went round in circles, not bumping into anyone and kept finding dead ends.  I knew my family was in there somewhere, but I felt alone and a bit scared.  Every now and then I heard some thunder in the distance which added to the scariness.  Luckily I met up with Milla and Harvey who were also both disorientated.  We had no idea where mum and dad were.  Together we managed to find one tower, success at last.  We wandered around looking for mum and dad and eventually found them.  They were having even more fun than us!  Eventually we managed to find the towers and the rose bushes but still not the exit.  We weren't done yet!

We all agreed that this was the best hide and seek place ever.  Particularly, as we were the only ones in the maze.  Dad counted first and we all hid.  Harvey and I stuck together and kept moving around.  We went past mum a few times.  She was hiding by the exit.  We kept stopping and listening for dad to see if he was close.  The game went on for a long while.  I was just about to yell out "I'm scared! Come and find us at the rose bush platform", when Dad and the others found us.  Together we found the exit and went home.  If you're ever in Wandiligong, make sure you visit the maze.  It is aMAZEing!

  1. Sounds like a lot of fun Maisie but I can understand how it would have been a bit scary if you were on your own. X Nannie
