Today I found a big coconut on the beach.I couldn't crack it open because it had a very strong husk surrounding the nut. When I shook it, I could hear the milk inside. I was desperate to look inside the nut so dad and I set to work. It took a very long time to get the husk off. We used a saw, a drill and a hammer! When we'd finished and I'd got the coconut out, I threw it on the concrete to split it open. Most of the milk fell out while I was cracking it. I looked inside.... it was perfectly ripe. I ate some of the white stuff. It reminded me of bounty and cherry ripe chocolate bars.
Great work with the blog. You've already covered some serious miles! Well done for persisting with the coconut - they're hard work but yummy in a curry. Hopefully we will catch you somewhere along the coast as we are heading south at the moment towards Cairns. Milla looks like she has the makings of a fine helmswoman. Happy travels, with love S.V.
